Jennifer Lawrence Brings Today’s Quote:
May 4, 2011 in Celebrity Quotes by Versus

Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence brings today’s quote:
On Her Athletic Build: “I’d rather look a little chubby on camera and look like a person in real life, than to look great onscreen and look like a scarecrow in real life.”
… says Jennifer in Flare Magazine.

god yeah, cos she’s so chubby.
Well, she has actually been called chubby many times on this site before. So I guess it’s something she has been told too…Crazy though…
seriously? i wonder about the distorted views some people must have.
Yeah Its better to be Chubby than to be Skinny. Remember That No one Really Like’s Skinny Ladies
Anyway Jennifer Looks Perfect for me!
AMEN sister!
what? she’s ‘athletic’???? she has an amazing body, if she was any skinnier she would be anorexic! her face is beautiful, she looks so much like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley!!
I know. She also looks so good glammed up. If you watch her movie “Winter’s Bone” she looks so different. She’s portrayed as dirt poor in that movie and it surprising what a hair brush and makeup can achieve.
Have you seen candids of her? She does have an athletic body. This cover has airbrushed some of her tone out. Compared to other actresses, she’s athletic and slightly bigger, which is refreshing.
Yeah I noticed they really airbrushed her…too much, she looks closer to the type of girl she’s denigrating in the article than what she really looks like (a healthy, toned and slim but not skinny girl). Also I love love *love* that outfit – I’m going to pair that royal purple with orange with a gold belt; it’s sooo pretty (but I obviously won’t show my midriff!!)
Great quote:)
hope she also will act that way because sometimes those two are total different things. Looking at her cover I would say she lost weight already, but it could be of course, fotoshopped.
I think she looks beautiful here – she has a great figure and a pretty face. It’s over-photoshopped – but that’s nothing out of the ordinary.
I also kind of like her spunk – she seems like a strong young woman. I’m not sure I would describe her as ‘athletic’ though – Cameron Diaz looks athletic to me, Jennifer looks like a normal, slim healthy girl. I can’t believe she needs to sort of defend her body – she’s not ‘chubby’ at all from my perspective! I have heard that many stars who look super slim but still all right on screen do look scary skinny in real life. I don’t know if it’s true or not though.
Yeah, she looks like a different person than the one with less makeup/clothing we saw in her GQ post. I feel like they did a lot of photoshopping to her waist in this one.
LOVE her quote, and she’s beautiful.
agree, she’s not got the kind of body I think of when I picture “athletic”, thats more like cameron diaz, but she has got the kind of body that I think of when I picture healthy/slim/cute/young. She looks good.
She does not look chubby on camera. This is silly. She isn’t bony or extremely toned but she is certainly slim. I suppose this drivel is what a lot of people want to hear?
I would never use the word athletic to describe her, but whatever, she looks great nonetheless.
I do often wonder what skinny celebrities look like in real life..for instance, those pictures of alessandra from yesterday, I know that if I her in real life I would think she looks scary thin…it’s amazing how the camera can distort images.
i am so curious about this! I have friends who are completely distorted by photos and others who manage to look exactly the same.
I’ve seen a lot of comedians in person (annual comedy festival where I live)- but they were almost all men and mostly all you notice there is the height!
i find my weight is very much distorted by the camera. i have a size 8 hourglass shape but on camera depending on what i’m wearing i look like a big brick.
the few celebrities i’ve seen in real life are unfortunately scary thin. i always thought of lauren conrad as “healthy/average” until i met her at a book signing. i wanted to feed her a burger or 5!
it makes me nervous to think what i would look like on camera, and how my eating patterns might change if suddenly what i thought was a healthy weight on me was called chubby.
sad, sad, sad
I never would have guessed Lauren Conrad was super skinny in real life…I guess it makes sense, because we don’t really have a point of reference in most celebrity pictures. Although we can all agree that someone like Gisele is skinny in pictures, we would have to see her in person to realize her thigh is the size of most people’s wrists…
I absolutely love this girl! So beautiful & talented. I think it’s really important to have “normal” people in Hollywood. They set many of the standards for beauty. If more women in Hollywood had bodies like Jennifer, more young girls would want to look healthy. She’s a great role model. I hope all the BS in Hollywood doesn’t get to her. I hate to see confident women lose themselves to the industry
I agree with every single word I couldn’t have put it better myself she’s stunning.
she looks a little bit perfect here! as for the quote- well she is hardly going to say anything else, as someone said the proof will be if she maintains this weight or suddenly drops 15pounds like so many do.
i think she looks good and i like this outfit a lot..i wish it were acceptable to wear a shirt like that to school/work haha
didn’t crystal renn wear this somewhere?
wow, she looks gorgeous on the cover!
the colour combination fits her hair/skin perfectly!
omg…sorry katy perry, think she’d turn me over you! amazing!
That outfit has been on many magazine covers, crazy. I think she is beautiful and talented, she looks great now. But I can almost guarantee she will lose weight.
I agree with what she’s saying, but the way she says it just makes her sound bitter, imo.
This list is quite weak. Cameron Diaz? Really? I like Bar, Milla and Natalie. Katy has a great body but her face is quite average.
I do have to admit that jennifer look so good on that cover we have to give it to she is a star
don’t know who she is but she looks gorgeous! i have no reference though for what she normally looks like… i googled her and i can’t believe she’s born in 1990! she’s younger than me! it always shocks me how these young celebs can pass for late 20s, 30s, and look waay older than me.
i love the outfit/colours though:) so nice and summery
I think she has a really great body and looks good on camera, but not chubby on camera at all.
It’s hard to believe she is the same age as me, I feel like she’s five years older. Maybe I think she looks a little older because she has been in a movie and done all of this Hollywood stuff, haha
I see a lot of people wondering whether or not she’ll cave and lose weight. Technically she’ll have to for her next film role in Hunger Games. She’s supposed to play a starving teen, and she can’t pull that off successfully looking healthy. So don’t be surprised when she starts to pull a Christian Bale on us.
What a hot outfit! I want!
wow facially, i thought she was leona lewis!
I’m really diggin’ Jennifer Lawrence! She has a GREAT face and I like her body. She looks like Doutzen Kroes with a touch of Scarlett Johanssen curviness. LOVES IT!
Wow people think she’s chubby?! I think she looks fantastic – slim and fit! I guess some folks equate having an athletic built to being chubby.
Nope, I think she’s the one perpetuating this idea
I really hate how much magazines photoshop. Yes she is an attractive young woman, but she doesnt look like that.
ugh so over photoshop making average looking women into supermodels!

Some people said that she was too chubby to play Katniss in The Hunger Games. People are way too critical these days, it’s horrible and I’m so glad Jen is being true to herself and not conforming to media stereotypes! Kudos sister!
