Skinny VS Curvy

Even though some wouldn’t really call Kelly’s figure a challenging one (to dress), the glamour model / actress explains that:

Finding clothes that suit my curvy shape has been a struggle in the past. When I was younger, I was a trend follower without really thinking if it suited my body shape.

Now, rather than following what other people are doing, I stick to accentuating my waist, as it balances out my hips and boobs.

When I started getting into modelling as a teenager, I wasn’t your typical gazelle with petite perky breasts or an androgynous waif.

I was 5ft 6in with 36in hips, a 25in waist and large boobs, so I really struggled to begin with — I was the wrong girl, wrong time.

But then I looked for work in areas of the media that would accept me, such as pop videos.

On how body & style criticism “hurts your soul”:

There is such a business these days based on being critical. It’s always been there, but now there are entire magazines devoted to shredding people—who wore the worst dress, who had the worst cellulite. It just, you know, hurts your soul. At the end of the day, you’re just going to a big party. You have to remind yourself to wear the things you love. Sometimes your friends or a stylist will go, “Yeah…no.” Sometimes you can’t see yourself with objectivity, but you have to go with what you think is pretty.

“Diane von Furstenberg has a very mod, 1950s bikini where the bottom is kind of high-waisted- very Marilyn Monroe and very sexy so if you have a little tummy, you can hide it. When you have a bigger butt, bottoms without ties on the side sometimes will cut into your skin. I have a booty, so I like ties because I can loosen them up a little.”

“I’ve seen women on the beach and I don’t know if they don’t see it but their breasts are hanging all the way down. They need some more support.”

“I love one-pieces, but I’m still 25. A lot of one-pieces look like they’re for older women, but nowadays there are so many fun one-pieces with cutouts and other designs that are really sexy.”

P.S.: Yes, the picture is old – it’s from 2009, but Khloe hasn’t been spotted in a bikini since.

Kelly Brooke and Catherine Zeta Jones thought alike this week, when they both opted for one-shoulder dresses. Kelly went for a cut that showed off her enviable hips (she’s an hourglass / vase), while Catherine opted for more volume on the bottom (she’s a goblet shape with a thin lower half).
