Brooklyn Decker Brings the Quote of the Day
June 28, 2010 in Brooklyn Decker, Celebrity Quotes by Versus

“Sports Illustrated is never about losing weight. They encourage girls to eat cheeseburgers the night before a shoot because they love girls who are a little bit curvier.”
… says Brooklyn (source: Life & Style Magazine).

Honey, that is because it is easier to photoshop the hell out of girls than forcing them to diet LOL
LOL so agree! What she say’s is bullshit, eating a burger a night before won’t make you curvy, it’ll make your stomach bigger
Bet she doesn;t eat anything a week before hand and STILL gets photoshopped.
Pathetic.
“eating a burger a night before won’t make you curvy, it’ll make your stomach bigger”
That’s EXACTLY what I thought as soon as I read this. haha.
It depends on where your weight goes. I don’t really gain around my waist or tummy, it would go to my thighs or hips most likely.
Moreover, you guys are missing her point. Modelling is associated with girls being forced to eat less to look good. She’s saying that her modelling work is different.
Her work may be different, but the result is the same: she’s photoshopped to unrealistic (and sometimes perhaps unhealthy) proportions.
Are you out of your mind?! It absolutely doesn’t depend on where your weight goes… sure over time burgers might show up on your thighs or ass rather than your stomach, but certainly not the night before a shoot!
And if you can agree with her that a body like that seen in SI comes from being encouraged to eat cheeseburgers and not starve yourself… well then I wish I shared your genes.
I’m quite in my mind thanks!
I think you’ve taken me to literally (and Decker at that). The point I was making to Ellie was simply that not everyone gains weight round their stomach easily. That’s all. I wasn’t suggesting that I believe that a cheeseburger the night before will see to voluptuous curves the next morning. If that were the case we’d be hearing about the notorious cheeseburger diet wouldn’t we?
Agree!
Can’t stand these kinds of comments because they project a false reality. Sports Illustrated hires girls who are thin and usually pretty fit. I am sure that Brooklyn and the other girls have to eat very cleanly to look the way they do, regardless of how active they are. Sure, a cheeseburger the night before a shoot is great…..but these girls are not eating cheeseburgers the rest of the month leading up to that photoshoot!!!!
completely agree.
urmmmm YEAHHHH,like a burger the night before a shoot is going to make HER look curvy.
What a STUPID comment!
hahah yeah, I eat some cheesecake a night before a photoshoot and normally go from a B to a C cup
lmso
her comment is totally ridiculous, of course. Plus, I don’t know why people always talk about cheeseburgers as the go to food to gain weight…if you make a cheeseburger at home using fresh ingredients it can have as little as 500 calories which is a totally reasonble meal! I would be much more impressed if SI was telling their models to eat a bacon-nator with jumbo fries the night before a shoot.
i totally agree mia, i mean burgers arnt actually that unhealthy, but then again i eat veggie burger with no mayo, so maybe my opinon doesnt count lol:P
Cheeseburger the night before is going to make your stomach look bigger. Has nothing to do with curves. Her hips need a little more meat. I love the bikini!
exactly, cheeseburger the night before will just help to look bloated! she’s gorgeous though
A cheeseburger isn’t going to get you bloated unless you can’t stomach gluten, or meat, or dairy or are prone to bloatedness.
There’s nothing magically wrong with the combination of cheese meat and bread. If this was rearranged as some kind of posh french cuisine meal everyone would be all: oh, it’s so FRESH, and LIGHT.
People are so full of #$#@ and they don’t even realise how much their opinions are influenced by reputation and entourage. The same meal can be given to a group of people, but once told it’s fast food and another time told it’s from a posh restaurant and they declare that it’s (heavy, made me bloated, too fatty, 1000 calories, average fastfood) and that’s it’s (light, easy, just 300 calories, delicious, original mix of aroma).
Bout the SAME meal.
Well your safest bet is cooking for yourself (or making someone cook for you
), but sometimes I just decide that instead of ordering a salad and eating all my friends’ fries, I’ll just get a dang burger and be done with it. I try to avoid red meat, but I think once in a while a burger is better then overloading on carbs and grease (and for some reason this summer we won’t stop going to diners. It’s killing me…)
Is that so? Well then! I’m ordering my first cheeseburger this year if that’s the case.
This gives me images of someone eating a cheeseburger expecting to wake up with a body like Kim Kardashian’s, but only getting a bloated belly and spots.
That’s just a silly comment. The reality of it is that those girls are NOT eating burgers all the time. They wouldn’t look like that, period.
Wow, is she really THAT stupid, or think everyone else is?
She looks like she’s never had a cheeseburder!
That is such a pile of crap!
I think she just ment, SI wants girls to eat and espcially to eat before their photoshoots. But yeah, that cheeseburger comment is low.
Has she been heavily photoshopped in this picture? In the recent pictures I’ve seen of her, I have not thought she was that skinny.
*Sigh* It just bothers be that people connect being ‘curvy’ with eating more, therefore having more meat on your bones. I’m tall and thin, about 5’9” and a size 4 and have very little curves. I’m a thin apple shape, with a short torso and very long legs. Although a lot of people like my body type, I’ve had guys tell me to eat more at bbqs and other situations because they like ‘curvy’ girls. However, any weight I gain will all go directly to my stomach. Curvy has to go with bone structure and weight distrabution, not how much you eat.
couldn’t have said it better. i’m sick of this whole idea that extra weight=curvy
hahaha this is 100% true. I have a VERY similar build (thin apple) and if i pigged out all the time, id just end up with a gut…boo. i actually think we have one of the most annoying body types for weight gain…but thats just my opinion.
I do think a skinny woman can be curvy too, but curvy does have something to do with meat on your bones as well imo. It’s the type of old fashion curvy body, with the boobs, hips and a tiny waist but also some softness and thighs that is often thought to look feminine. And in addition, i think a person with not such a curvy body type can look more curvy if they’re not pin thin, if the meat goes to their thighs and maybe butt and boobs a bit too. (But i agree more meat and fat doesn’t automatically mean curvy) The quote, as such ridiculous as a meal the night before doesn’t affect your body (except the possible bloated tummy if the meal was too big) But i have a feeling she didn’t think too much when she said that, just meant that SI doesn’t want the girls to be too skinny.
The only way you can gain weight is by eating. Therefore eating a cheeseburger would add extra calories to your daily calorie intake. I am 5’4 and weigh 125lbs. I am skinny but with curves. Guys love the figure. But the only way I can ever put on weight is by working out with weights and eating a lot. I am lucky that the extra weight that I do put on goes straight to the hips. With that being said, photographers are clueless. Most are probably men that think they know everything.
LOL!
Well, a cheese burger is fine, because our bodies do need some fat, if you only have it now and again (say, once a month as a treat) and it’s part of your daily calorie intake. If you want a cheese burger for dinner, you should eat museli for breakfast and a Tuna salad with a little brown rice for lunch. Surprisingly, it’s actually HEALTHY for your body to eat a high fat meal like a burger every so often, because it makes your heart work hard at filtering the blood, which strengthens it. However, eat too much high fat food and you’re over working your heart. Plus, cheese burgers are not exactly empty calories – you’re getting iron and calcium in a way that’s easy for the body to absorb. It’s just that they’re very processed, which takes away some of the digestion of the beef and cheese our bodies would’ve done in their fresh form.
Sorry to go off on a tangent about the nutritional value of burgers there….lol. Also, i doubt that Brooklyn Decker ever eats a cheese burger. She might do, though, but she’ll burn it off at the gym either before or after she eats it.
lol this was all incredibly incorrect
Well then enlighten us.
wow, and you cannot get any more curvy than her! NOT:)
I highly doubt that she even said that, it’s a stupid comment. Usually girls get in super shape for a swimsuit shot and then have a burger after words. The bread and meat from a chessburger does not make you the least bit curvey. At the salt and crap that’s in one just makes you look bloated. When we look at swimsuit models, we expect to see healthy curves. And, if the models do eat a burger the night before, I also heard that the models us machine and things like the Thigh Master, like 10 minutes before there first shot, to make them look really tight.
Well it doesn’t seem to have worked for you Brooklyn. The only curves you have are your breasts. Perhaps if you skipped the cheeseburger the night before a shoot, your stomach wouldn’t look so bloated all the time and you might have a waist!
Wow Casey i’m surprised this comment has come from you!
What pics have you seen of her looking bloated? I haven’t seen any myself. As for her not having a waist, don’t blame the cheeseburgers, blame her genetics.
She is far from being curvy… Except for the boobs. I don’t find her really attractive, IMO.
i never really noticed how skinny her legs are :O i always thought shes more curvy ..
but guess it has a lot to do with photoshop too lol
What a ridiculous statement!
I just want to know, if any of you girls like little tiny legs like Brooklyn’s?
When they’re attached to wider hips, yes. I have thin legs similar to hers, but my hips are wider so it looks more shapely.
It probally makes you look good, it’s just the more I glance at this picture, the more her legs don’t seem to match up to the rest of her.
I don’t.
Her legs are nice. Mine are skinny like hers but my calves have some definition to them. Along with my thighs. But I have wider hips so it looks more shapely.
I love thin legs, but I think in this pic things looks strange because so much photoshop has been used. We have seen candids of her body on this site and she looks nothing like that, much fuller and softer, doesnt have a flat stomach, etc.
I find it funny people saying she has no curves though, compared to the majority of women I see on the beach (couting beaches from different countries and continents here) she has more curve, boobs are bigger in comparison to her body size, and her waist, it might not be like kelly brook but she has a waist, 90% of women have staight waists the nipping in of the muscle there is a rare genetic trait actually, for most women their curve isnt created by the waist but by the width or fat on their hips.
Just find it weird you guys complaining on her when all I see on this site are comments like “where are the normal size 4/6/8 models?! I want to see more of them instead of “underweight” or overweight women” – Brooklyn must be a size 4-6 and yet she is still getting so much complaints.
The complaints from posters could be relative to her fat distribution, not her size. She seems to gain weight in her midsection, which many people don’t consider attractive. She has nice boobs though.
I think she gains weight quite evenly all over, not hourglass, but not an apple either, just like a normal girl, which from what I gather is what people want to see…..
I think she might be a lollipop shape. Very slim waist and narrow hips/legs and then these big boobs. It’s like all her curves are up top, typical barbie doll type figure.
True but you know that people are going to criticize her on this site anyway. I like the to see diverse body shapes as well but I’m also aware that people love to pick apart the smallest flaw when it comes to womens’ bodies. Brooklyn doesn’t have my ideal body type but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to see her body represented here. That’s all I’m saying.
I don’t think she looks more than a 2 or 4 tops in these pics.
Definitely – although I prefer skinny legs to be toned, but not so muscular that they become bulky.
If its not photoshopped, then i love her tummy!! Its so flat!
Hahaha cheesburgerS a night before the shoots will only make you look bloated but in her case it doesnt works,i bet she was “eating” only water a lot of nights before this shoots
and hunny next time when you dont know what to say please dont speak such a bullshits
Samantha i don`t like thin legs. And about the burger comment,i don`t think that she agree with Sport Illustrated to eat a burger a nghit before cos she looks like a lollipop
All this talk of burgers makes me hungry!
I feel like she should be wearing bigger bottoms in terms of depth if this makes sense? They look tiny, especially in comparison to her top half which is obviously quite busty for her weight.
I really think she meant this toungue in cheek. I’m surprised that she’s getting such a negative reaction.
Tell me about it!
Everyone’s so keen to start a fire….
Are her boobs real?
I think that’s what we should be talking about. Thin girls with huge implants on magazines give people more issues than thin girls without fake boobs on magazines.
hehe, you cant tell though, if they are fake then they are good ones, my sis is similar to this in her body and her boobs are just as big
I think they’re real.
Not every girl with big boobs has had surgery. I know many girls with natural big boobs and straight bodies. Moreover, not every boob job will involve massive implants. Many women only go up one or two cup sizes to make them look more natural and many women also have breast reductions. I know two girls that have gone from G cups to C cups.
do you happen to know what swimsuit she is wearing? I love it!!
Did you know that the word ‘gullible’ isn’t in the dictionary? Go ahead and check, I’ll wait.
…Says the woman who’s thighs don’t touch :\
I think we have to remember that whenever celebrities or the media use the term ‘curvy’ they do not mean it in the traditional sense of shape, they use it as a euphemism for ‘bigger’
Beautiful body, stupid comment about the cheeseburgers.
sorry but i just think that is a stupid comment.
I saw like 30 minutes of an “I want to be a sports illustrated cover model” episode, and in that episode a curvy fit girl was told she needed to lose 10- 15 lbs to continue in the competition, she was too big for the magazine, and she’s skinnier than average. Sports illustrated models are curvy relative to other modeling genres, but that’s about it. And lots of ppl will encourage girls to eat a burger, but expect for it not to alter the girls weight. And a girl who knows about food and dieting wouldn’t let it affect their weight. She’s trying to make sports illustrated sound so wholesome, but she’s not really going about it in a very intelligent way.
Quote: “to eat cheeseburgers the night before”
I don’t think it’s healty, either physically or mentally!!!
[...] few days ago, Brooklyn Decker talked about looking good in a bikini (with the help of cheeseburgers ) and Life & Style Magazine got another celebrity to share [...]
Hilarious. What bullsh*t.
You can tell by the wideness of her hip bones that her body is naturally not supposed to be that slim in the hip area. I hope one day she lets herself fill out, she’d look better.
you just gotta love how every anorexic girl can have cup C boobs nowadays..
