At large request, here’s Beyonce’s latest video for “Why Don’t You Love Me” – it’s got lots of outfits, all revealing and tight on B’s super curves, it’s got a retro vibe, some Bettie Page, booty shaking and lots more.

Beyonce definitely has…sexed it up since her earlier days. Some say hoochified herself more, which works too I suppose. I like the video’s classic feel though. Very glamourous Dorothy Dandrige I guess lol. It’s very different from what she’s done before, I enjoyed watching it. She has a nice body though. That can’t be denied.

So I normally don’t like her body but I have to admit that she looks gorgeous here, and I really like the styling. BUT, her music just keeps getting crappier and crappier, and she just keeps getting sluttier and sluttier… I guess she discovered it’s easier to move your tits and slap your ass than compose anything worth hearing.
She just broke a record for winning most Grammy awards in one night. I don’t think that really indicates that her music is getting crappier and crappier. Also, she use to make videos that were kind of slutty, but I think this one is really classy and nicely done, not slutty at all.
considering taylor won artists of the year over MJ, who had sold more that year than any artists that year even though he passed,shows how credible the grammies are. and she got a grammy for songwriting, when she doesnt write her songs. the grammies are hardly a credible source to refer to
It’s only the popular people that win rather than the truly talented people in my opinion. Most modern music all starts to sound the same. The same repetitive tune in the background over and over again with loud voices belting out lyrics that the crowds like to hear. It’s more about having a good voice than making good music.

I also have to add does anyone think “single ladies” is an r&b song? isnt it more pop? Well, it won best r&b song, which further proves how credible the grammies are.

And really, what is it with me singers these days being slutty while not actually, idk, singing well and writing good music? It’s all about being sexy, not the music. Well, it’s true, and I guess all 1,000,000 of the rest of them are selling out as well. They are, and it’s true. They know that’s what sells, so they write bad music and prance around trying to be sexy. Sex sells? Indeed. But it’s bad when that over talent is what does it. It’s sad really. And I don’t listen to the music on the Hills, I’ve never even seen an episode of it in my life. I actually listen to (gasp) music.
Yes Beyonce is sexing it up a bit but it’s crazy to say that she is not talented as well. She is extremely talented that is why she has made it to where she is today, look at all of the reputable rewards she has won. I don’t get why people don’t understand that she is playing a role! This is not Beyonce in this video, she is playing a character as if she was in a movie. Do you hate some actors even though they are amazing actors but play characters who are too sexy or do bad things, no, you respect their craft. This is who the character is and this is what she wrote the video to be, why are you attacking her for it?
I never attacked her. Sheesh, Mariah…again. I don’t think this is her. She has changed because she knows what sells. Sure, she has always been “sexy” (not really…), but you wouldn’t catch her smoking a cigarette and slapping her ass in her earlier videos, as someone else said. It’s not her. She was R&B, she’s now pop and borrowing from so many other people. The song is terrible, she has compromised the music to just be sexy, and I also said that EVERYONE is doing that these days. Because they are. Miley, Christina A., Katy Perry, Gaga. All these pop artists are now a dime a dozen, and as for talent, I don’t like her voice. AND I don’t buy her as an actress, either. But even if she IS talented to some, why compromise writing something actually worth hearing just to prance around “singing” while basically just trying to be overtly sexy? That’s my opinion at least.
most women want to feel sexy. so, i don’t blame them for sexing it up. their job allows them to express their sexuality more than most jobs (songs are often about relationships with men, that other women can relate to, and often that involves sex). women relate to songs about men, men relate to images of hot women, selling more records. that is not selling out, that is marketing your craft!
i like to feel sexy, most women do…and good for beyonce, and katy perry, and rhianna, and britney spears for enjoying it!

beyonce is so beautiful and so sexy! love her! she looks AMAZING, as usual, in this video. as someone else said, she radiates ‘sexy’ in her independent, strong, and (i normally hate this word, but – ) sensual attitude. she doesn’t even need to be beautiful to be sexy. BUT SHE IS. her body is perfect to me! and her face is breathtaking!

I have always disliked Beyonce, ever since her Destiny’s Child days. I truly think she is one of the most overrated “artists” of our generation today..she yells,shrieks, shouts, oversings, uses improper breathing techniques, and always wants to rely on her chest voice.. I do not expect her to have the range and timber of an opera singer, but its actually painful to listen to her intentionally hurting her voice… and frankly, who are just as much if not even more so dedicated and hard-working would deserve the opportunities to prove themselves, the ones she has been getting since her Daddy always made sure all eyes were only on her… when she sings more pop, hip-hop styled music, she can carry a tune, with much more professionalism than many of today’s mainstream artists, but I think generally the problem is that in today’s day and age, our expectations are really low, and its not that hard to seemingly live up to par. Back in the age of Golden Hollywood, and still today to formal institutes, its a minimum requirement to be a “triple-threat”, nowadays even if somebody manages one threat on a so-so level, they get a passing grade… I remember watching a VH1 Driven documentary on Bey, where even her sis and family said that many times she looks like she is having a seizure when dancing( I thought it was a bit mean-spirited, but still, have to admit its true in a way), she cannot act, and in her interviews from her past it always bothered me that she didn’t seem too articulate, and seemed to have absolutely no ideas, thoughts or emotions of her own, which is rather strange for somebody who is trying to portray herself as an independent, fierce, sassy, outspoken woman. This video, along with Katy Perry’s attempts is an insult to the classic pin-ups, like Bettie Page who Bey in this clip totally ripped off, you can find Bettie’s cheesecake shoots on youtube and many pics of her dancing… the difference being, that those pin-ups were credible, they lived the lifestyle, and it wasnt just a forced image created by executives to sell records and appeal to a new market, there was integrity,credibility, and sincerity, something Bey and Katy, especially comparing to the ladies they are trying to copy or live up to, don’t possess at all. In this video, make-up, wig, and outfits-wise, Bey comes across looking cheap and unnatural looking, and I always thought her body was overrated as well, I have seen many women with a similar and much nicer curvy shape, and when thicker, her thighs were always really untoned,and making her look very Micha Bartonesque, just that of course she wasn’t scrutinized for it back in the day as she was “bootylicious”… She wears tons of make-up, had a rhinoplasty, had her lips done, got breast implants.. and the sad thing is that while the evidence exists for it, its well documented over the internet, since it was a gradual, not really drastic surgery, most people truly believe this is how she was naturally “blessed by God and with amazing genes”. Almost 80% of today’s celebs, ESPECIALLY many of the people you would never expect based on the image they are trying to portray indulge in many invasive surgeries and are hyped as the next impossible IT Woman every woman should be expected to live up to or at least admire and envy, however Ijust cant accept that any woman can honestly be touted this, who has been artificially made that, for huge sums of money, as an investment so to say with the industry hoping a bang back in time for their buck.. I know plastic surgery is just spreading and spreading and becoming an every-day thing ( I do agree that there are cases when I think its justifiable), however have we really gotten to the point of where even though we know something is fake, we still prefer it over the real thing, even if it might actually BE better not just natural? :S Sorry about the long rant, but I have been lurking on this site for at least over a year now, and I just had to finally add my two cents.

I would love to see posts maybe of vintage bodyshapes and shoots, so there could really be a compilation of how women’s beauty and body ideals changed throughout the years.. My fave vintage vixens are Betty Brosmer, Brigitte Bardot, Diana Dors, Sherry Britton, Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Rita Hayworth. I don’t know how many of these women used corseting or at least waist-cinchers( using either Spanx, cinchers, corsetting, is just as much counted as “cheating” as putting 2,3,4 chicken cutlets in your bra to have bigger breasts.. yes, for clothes to fit and look better, help could be needed and properly fitting underwear should be worn, however the body underneath is still the same , so its deceit to the eye in a way), but Betty Brosmer and Jayne Mansfield both lifted weights and publicly declared that they owe their figures due to exercise, Betty Brosmer known today as Betty Weider to this day is a firm advocate of lifting weights for women. She has narrower hips now, but still maintained that amazing WHR ratio and a fit, toned body..she makes me feel more inspired to be fit, healthy and never be too lazy to exercise than any of today’s celebs who make the most beautiful, sexiest, whatever bodies lists.

Here, here. I accept that human though is cyclical in truth. We do tend to recycle ideas but, what is important is that we used these ideas to state our own peace. That makes it original. I can’t say I’ve really seen B ever say anything profound about herself. I watched this video and I thought…What in the hell does this have to do with the song? Just walking around half naked cleaning? I don’t get what she’s saying. As for the song itself, I get tired of hearing her yell so, I don’t buy her crap. I’ll stick with Sisters of Mercy records and stay old. And you are very correct about her vocal issues. She’s pushing her larynx up, really nasty thing to do to yourself. Belting period will cute decades off your career. Ella Fitzgerald didn’t get a sixty year career by being a belter.
As for this crap “I don’t have to ask for nothing” line these women use in songs today…I personally suggest young women not take their relationship cues from people like B. Little trade secret: Men like to be needed, just not in some kind of whiny fashion.

The problem for me isn’t that this song is bad (it’s actually quite catchy) it’s that it isn’t the best that she can do.
Unlike most of her contemporaries she has a good voice and with the principles she showed in her earlier career you’d think that she’d put more soul into her music. Christina Aguelira for me is an example of a girl that really took her music in her stride and started to work on songs that are meaningful, so despite her sometimes trashy dress style, I respect her as an artist.
But there’s no denying that Beyonce looks dangerously hot in this vid. She’s got a killer body.
I love her! I thought the video was great and she did a great job, many will disagree but I think Beyonce really has talent as an actress as well as a singer. The video makes me like the song even though it normally wouldn’t be my taste. I love how B can go in so many different directions with her music and play all kinds of different roles in her video. She is extremely talented.
Beyonce is very pretty. i think she always has been uber pretty but shes never had one of those ‘Oh my god’ bodies….its always just like….yeah….shes got thick legs and a nice-ish butt and no boobs…….shes more ‘face and hair’ than say, someone like Rihanna (or even Britney in her hey day) who actually DOES have a very very good figure and can really dance well. Lately it seems that Beyonce is evolving more into a POP artist and moving out of RnB and soul music which is a great way to get more fans and appeal to a wider audience…..shes a clever business lady and her style has really evolved…..i dont think you’d catch her smoking on a cigarette and slapping her butt in her early days…..this was all brought home to me MORE in her video with GAGA where she actually swears (well…the ‘F’ word is implied) and that kind of says it all really doesnt it! Little girls and young teens dont want to relate to that, they want someone bubblegum like Miley or Taylor.
Anyway, she looks very pretty as always and her make-up/hair and clothes are all lovely!
p.s Do you think they did some touching up on the video? In some shots she looks down-right ‘thin’ but then in the flesh/ when she gets papped and even in the very top picture above…..she doesnt look half as slender?! They probably took a few inches off here and there id say! The below picture is how i always imagine she looks in ‘real’ life….

the retro style of the video is amazing, song is ok, catchy. What is a bit of annoying is that lately Beyonce is being more like sexually agressive rather than sexy…i think she crossed the line..Don’t want to be rude but her latest videos are more wh***d up rather than sexed up…

I’m over the whole ‘sex sells’ crap as well. I wish just one of these women would stand up to the marketing men and powers that be who insist on reducing them to the lowest common denominator at the expense of their talent. Seems like Beyonce is doing her best to stay relevant taking cues from Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. I remember when she sang against Jennifer Hudson and tried to out sing her–which she couldn’t do… I wish Beyonce would just be true to the kind of artist she really is (whatever that is) and stop copying others who’ve come after her. She’s all over the place with the over the top photo shoot for House of Dereon…sexy, no doubt, but what is she promoting?

I think Beyonce is a pear shape, but I know what you mean about the angles. Sometimes she looks like an hourglass, but still, I believe her lower half carries more weight (hips, thighs) than her upper half.
