Olivia Munn Brings the Quotes of the Day
October 31, 2011 in Beauty & Body Image, Celebrity Quotes by Versus

“Of course everyone wants to look their best and I do try, but my best isn’t the best of what some people see the standard of beauty to be. I have real lips and more boobs and more hips and if that perpetuates a new form of beauty then that is great. I know I’m curvier – I know I’m small, but I’m not ripped. But I make a choice to be that way. I realise my arms aren’t as toned as Halle Berry’s but I don’t want them to be.”
… says Olivia, who recently admitted that she drinks every time she exercises.

Original colour for a dress. I think I like it, but I’m not sure
Oh Olivia people don’t like you because you’re ugly (which you are for a hapa) they don’t like you because your a fame wh0re and say retarded, misogynistic things.
Wow, that’s some hatred you got there. What did she say?
I agree that hapas are often attractive, along with most mixed people, but I wouldn’t go as far to say that she’s an exception of “the rule”.
in the only interview i ever read with her she was talking one moment about how hard its to be respected in the male dominated field of videogames, then next paragraph inviting the interviewer to stick a carrot up her butt as long as it wasn’t a baby one so it wouldnt get lost up there. classy girl, that olivia
Haha! I see, well then I might see why there’s such strong reactions. She stated that she gets why she’s easy to “hate”, so in that sense, at least she has some self-insight.
Haha!
i’m curious, what’s a hapa?
Hapa refers to anyone with half-Asian, half-other ethnicity heritage. The term originates from Hawaii, where Hapa was used as a derogatory term for people of mixed Asian and Asian American ancestry. In recent years, there has been a reclamation of the term by people of mixed heritage that includes Asian and Asian American ancestry.
I’m pret sure people don’t like Olivia munn because she says retarded and misogynistic things. She also parades herself around like she’s the shit. So yeah.
Yeah, you said that. But again, would you mind giving any examples to back up your statement? After what the other poster mentioned, I don’t have a hard time believing you, but I would like something more concrete. Why is she misogynic?
Also anyone interested in a beautiful hapa girl check out jessica michibata or kiko mizuhara (I’m half Japanese which is why I know and LOVE half Japanese models). Hapa power!
I would refrain from yelling out things like “hapa power”, it’s impossible not to equate such statements with “white power”, which is not exactly accepted. Let’s be consistent.
agree jamie
So it’s not okay for me to be proud of having the best of both worlds? And no. White power is extraordinarily different than any other movement. White power stems from the fear of being pathetically boring whereas any other minority power stems from being oppressed and proud. Olivia has said such gems as the only people who don’t like her are fat, jealous, and need to take the sandwich outta their mouth and take a walk. She wore leather boots to her PETA meeting, I mean the sheer fact Abe supports PETA is enough right there. She deep throated a hot dog and jumped into a giant pie dressed as a sexy maid. She compared the Internet to pedophilia. I can go on, but why should I when everyone on here is entirely capable of using google. But, I’d also like to say while I disgree with the white power thing I do apologize if it came off as offensive. I’m just proud to be unique (though everyone will be a hapa in the future :p).
@ Chi
I’m all for mixed raced pride, being mixed race myself, but I think you need to tone it down a notch or two. There’s a difference between being proud and having a superiority complex.
I also think your analysis of “white pride” leaves much to be desired. Statements like that only add fuel to the whole “reverse-racism” argument.
“White power stems from the fear of being pathetically boring”?!
Was that serious? I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, i chose to laugh. Never heard that one before.
LOL
I think white power and the whole thought behind it and view on your fellow human beings stems from a lot of horrible things, but definitely not inferiority, rather a feeling of superiority.
do u have a small p e n i s lol
Chi you sound obnoxious.
I met her at a book signing, she is hilarious! and quite beautiful in person
“I know i’m small”?????………..who told Olivia Munn that she was “small”? she’s curvy and thick with a wide frame. not saying that she has a bad body at all, she has a good body……but she is far from small!!!!
”new form of beauty”
who is she kidding? she doesn’t stand out from the crowd
she looks like a less sensual version of megan fox
it sounds as though she is fishing for compliments
i am sick and tired of these cookie cutter celebs with the ” I don’t fit the hollywood ideal” when in fact they look as generic as you can get
Sure, sure. She’s pretty average all around imo.
I see no lips, no boobs, no butt ……….
just the untoned arms
kk
she confuses and annoys me.
Hips? Where? And as for the boobs, they were cirurgically enhanced. I wouldn´t normally bother but she so rubs me the wrong way.
beautiful color but super unflattering cut !! and chill winston !dont even compare a part of ur body to halle berry’s !
She technically contrasted.
chill winston… is that a lock stock and two smoking barrels reference? lol
anyway i agree about the comparison lol
MMm yes whenever I put on a few pounds my lips always get fuller…not! I understand what she is trying to do…..casually say that she is naturally curvy and has no shame- that is an admirably thing- but, she is trying too hard to show that she “doesn’t care” so it comes across as phony
I think she is beautiful and I love her hair like that. HATE the dress and think it looks awful on her. I wouldn’t call her “curvier” than the average celeb but her body is gorgeous.
Agreed. I don’t get why a lot of people call her ugly. I just don’t see that but maybe it’s because I don’t know anything about her and her personality, therefore my opinion is not biased.
I don’t know much about her either…I see stupid quotes from here and otherwise I wouldn’t know anything about her. I do think she is quite beautiful.
But she not. She’s so super plain. I mean she’s not hideous but there’s nothing special. She’s no Mila Kunis, Emma watson, or even Lucy Lu. I mean even Kristin kruek has this charm and intriguing quality about her. Perhaps its because olivia acts like a highschool girl thats so totally cool cuz she fake plays video games and all her guys are friend and girls are just jealous.
I agree with you Debbs and Mishael, I think she is objectively an attractive woman, maybe not crazy-hot but she is definitely good-looking, but I don’t really know her from the next person, she isn’t famous or on TV in my country. I think the people who call her ugly must be turned off by her personality, because she really isn’t ugly, and I doubt she would have been given the job as a presenter on a TV show aimed at guys (computer games) if the general consensus was that she is ugly.
I honestly don’t think that she has very large hips or breasts at all. Also I don’t entirely understand what she was trying to say about being curvier but she’s small but not ripped…just that she’s soft all over? Drinking alcohol every time you exercise probably doesn’t promote muscular development, haha!
Oh, my. She certainly has a big head. Her breasts are average to small, her hips I have never noticed and she isn’t ripped – at all.
Average looking female all around with a big ego. Annoying female.
Don’t know why, but I take offense to this turn if phrase, ‘annoying female’. I guess because it somehow implies that she is annoying because she’s female. I’m not sure if that’s your intention and certainly not trying to pick a fight. Just saying how I feel. Peace
What I’m saying is, I guess I would prefer annoying person. But perhaps that’s just me.
She looks great, although she reminds me of the character in Parks and Recreation, don’t remember her name. April? The sardonic one.
she gives happas like me a bad rep…….she is moderately pretty though.
I don’t have an opinion about her, but I sure do have one about that dress! What an unfortunate-looking garment. It makes her look like a piece of wilted iceberg lettuce.
Ahahahahaha! Totally hearted.
Seriously now, where are the boobs and hips??? YOU ARE NOT CURVY girl!!! Seriously google her she doesn’t even have a waist unless she is posing in a certain way!!
I agree. I think she said that because she’s not extremely skinny, and for many people, curvier = heavier, whereas actually curvy = a nice WHR. And she doesn’t have one.
She has a beautiful face though
I know! I mean I read about a child when she saw Marilyn Monroe she said she was fat!! I like Olivia Munn’s face BUT she sounds sooo full of herself! Why can’t we all be proud of our bodies??
haha shes crazy and looks fat in that frumpy green dress.
Ugh, she always rubs me the wrong way. She seems really full of herself and frankly her comments consistently indicate that she thinks she is far more attractive than she is in reality. I also never find her funny so she should shut her pie hole.
oh another poor delusional woman. she’s obviously hot but feels “oh so different and less attractive” than her celebrity colleagues just because of..her untoned arms?we will never know to whom she’s trying to compare herself.
Arms are usually the easiest parts to tone, especially if you’re not apple shaped. Laaaazy!
IMO this is one instance where someone misuses the word ‘curvy’. curvy to me is someone with a nice waist! otherwise i think it should be called ‘lumpy’, so i think she should’ve said she knows she’s lumpier.
she’s always trying to sound so cool. she tries to elevate herself so often! she knows that most guys like boobs and butt, she knows curvy and yet small and “not ripped” is the ideal for women. so she’s trying to say she’s the ideal.
she just comes off as pretentious, having an overinflated ego, and slightly dim again
“I have real lips and more boobs and more hips and if that perpetuates a new form of beauty then that is great.”
This is what her boobs look like without a bra/photoshop

She’s has bigger boobs compared to whom? Dakota Fanning?
She looks so incredibly trashy in that photo
Finally a quote from her that I can agree with (I don’t understand why everyone is bashing her for this one). Effort shows, and she doesn’t want to put in as much as effort as others in Hollywood do. What’s so wrong with that? A lot of celebrities are obsessed (to say the least) with being perfect and spend HOURS perfecting themselves. That may not be as important to everyone, and clearly Olivia isn’t as successful as some of her more “perfect” looking counterparts. I can understand where she’s coming from. Putting a lot of effort into your appearance is a choice, and in Hollywood it is a choice with real financial implications.
She’s not succesful because she’s just horrendous to watch. Girl can’t act, looks WAY bad on the big screen, and says really ignorant, misogynistic, sometimes racist remarks (here I’m referring to her telling a holocaust joke to Jon Stewart who’s Jewish, look it up kids).
didn’t you just call white people pathetically boring? Now your calling olivia out for a “racist” comment?
Wow. Thanks for proving that white people can’t read.
Honestly why are you such an angry person? You wrote what you wrote, and everyone else can see it too. Also just go and make assumptions about race and ethnicity based on reading skills, seems a logical way to do things…
Chi… sorry but what on earth? Who exactly do you think you are??? Yes, we get it- you hate Olivia Munn but that doesn’t give you the right to go about making racist comments about other people and yes, by essentially saying that “White people can’t read” you ARE being racist- not to mention extremely ignorant.
I don’t often get this annoyed with people but I find your tone and the content of your comments extremely irksome- you need to get over yourself; being mixed race or any other attributes you think you possess does not make you any better than anyone else- neither does it give you the right to talk down to others.
I disagree totally. She’s supposed to be a comedian. She’s not successful because she’s not that funny. Rosie O’Donnell isn’t a typical Hollywood woman but she’s beyond successful. Also, in an another recent interview Olivia claimed she’s not successful because she’s “too pretty” to be a woman in comedy. Sounds like excuses to me.
I don’t find her attractive at all. I don’t see anything pretty or special about her.
agree
That has to be the least flattering gown i’ve ever seen. Whose idea was it to put her in that?
By real lips I think she meant she hasn’t had anything done to them… Yes, she’s not particularly curvy in the proper sense, but she still has quite a cute/pretty face. However the things she says are more than a little obnoxious.
Why explain what you want and don’t want to be? Just do the things you do and appreciate your body the way it is now. I really dislike it when people, especially celebrities, say that their body is slimmer or curvier than the norm. So what..does that make you abnormal? Sheesh
She has real lips? As opposed to silicon? Okay, well her lips are average/thinnish looking, and she doesn’t have a waist or hips, and her boobs can’t be bigger than a B, so not sure what “curves” she’s talking about. I love how every hollywood actress thinks she stands out from the mold in terms of looks.
I agree. Every time a Hollywood celeb is slightly bigger than the norm they go on and on about their curves (regardless if they have them or not). It’s fine that they wanna stay the size you are and not give into pressure, but why does it always have to be about the curvy movement – she’s not that curvy. Curvy has seriously become the new “in word” right now, and completely lost it’s meaning.
stay the size THEY are obviously
I don’t really know why I find her annoying, and I sort of wish I didn’t, but I can’t help it.
The dress is hideous and I think she’d look better if she toned down the tan a notch, but I think she’s actually pretty.
lol I’m the only one who likes her. That’s ok, more for me ;]
I think Olivia is really pretty, but this gown does NOTHING for her. What is she even famous for anyway?
Ugly dress. Poorly fitted as well.
Oliva’s quote is lame. She’s far from sexy and I laugh at the idea that her dumpy body might inspire a new form of beauty. She sounds very full of herself.
KMART version of Megan Fox or Adrien Curry
I don’t know much of her, she’s not known in my country but she is pretty and very funny. People should take what she says not so serious!
Curvy??? Ha! I nearly choked on my water when I read that. Does she have funhouse mirrors in her house because I’m not seeing any curves. Where’s the hips? Where’s the boobs? Where’s the nice, defined waist? I don’t see any of the above on her. I just see an average plain jane in a hideous frumptastic prom dress. Plus from what I’ve read about her she just comes across as an airheaded twit who tries waaay too hard to impress the dudes that hang out at events such as Comicon; my BF is a bit of a toy geek and saw her prancing around like an idiot(his words) at a Star Wars convention dressed in a Princess Leia outfit or something like that.
I’m hapa and honestly not to be rude but not all other hapas (even in my family) are genetically born to be beautiful. There are plenty of hapas who I know who aren’t “beautiful” but aren’t ugly. However I’ve noticed that hapas tend to prefer their White side. I’ve never ever liked that. I embrace all my sides, not just White, and unfortunately I see Olivia only embracing her White side!
I don’t know much about her. This comment seems nice and realisic though. Also, I think her carrot comment that someone listed above is kinda funny.
