Angelina Jolie Looked Too Stunning in St. John Ads

Angelina Jolie is the image of St. John brand and we’re looking at their black&white ads – wow, she looks beautiful!
So beautiful, that she “eclipsed” the brand:
“[Jolie] overshadowed the brand,” said chief executive officer Glenn McMahon. “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”
What are your thoughts?

oh god, first 3 and last are gorgeous..i wonder if her image suited the brand though, outside of the photos…
Brad is a stoner who looks half a mess sometimes and her acting is sometimes good sometimes not..
they should go after anne hathaway or natalie portman if they want ‘classy brunettes’

this may not say much about me… but i’d never heard of st. john until angelina became their face. probably the case for more than just a few people…. i think dropping her was a mistake.

No, I’ve heard of it. It’s kind of an old lady brand.
definitely not an old lady brand. we buy my mom who is 56 a st. john suit just about every christmas. all it takes is some tailoring and it has more shape. and she doesnt dress like a 56 y/o! lol
Um, 56 is generally considered getting old. The styling of the brand has always been tailored to older women (50+). It’s not young, that’s not to say it’s ugly but it’s not exactly trendy either.
well, there’s a big difference between trendy and classic
whew, 56 isnt old. 70+ is old. im 25 and i dont know about you, but I would wear the sweater and gloves in picture 1, the dress in picture 3, the coat in 4 and the dress in picture 5. nothing “old” or “trendy” about any of it. just classic looks that are timeless and can be worn by any age. you can make any outfit suit any age, its just how it fits, how you tailor it and what accessories you put with it. i guess chanel is for old people too considering their suits have very similar styling.

I love the bone structure of her face. These pics look very timeless and elegant. I hope she doesn’t burn herself out too much more though, because the photoshop they’ve done in these pics (hey, we know it happens, and if we can mention it with Kim K. we can mention it with Angie) masks well how tired and worn out her face is beginning to look with all that stress from raising so many kids and all her obligations toward peace and humanitarian efforts. But ah well, I’m sure she wouldn’t exchange beauty for all the good she’s done.

she’s always had such great bone structure and has aged with a classic kind of beauty….. I don’t know why they photoshopped the close-ups on her face so heavily (especially pic#2), any lines in her face just seem to add to her looks.
My thought: photoshop. Big time. Her bones are so much more visible in candids. I don’t want to be mean, but the worst part are always her hands, which are big, bony and full of visible veins. Here she looks like she’s made out of wax. But really, her facial structure is amazing, also in real life.

I really wish she gained some, because her face look extremely pretty when she is fuller. She looks older than she really is now.

she is gorgeous, but i am pretty sure these are not new. they were in a Vogue the summer before last.
Oh my, as a photographer I have to say these pictures are awful. The photography is boring and the retouching is very poor. Maybe Angelina isn’t a clean enough pallet to work with……either that or someone let their little brother do the retouching. The retouching is so visible here, and that’s sometimes unavoidable with a poor subject.

I don’t normally find her attractive, but thanks to photoshop smoothing out the harsher lines from her low weight (I agree with whomever said she needs to gain a little – a little body fat would look soo good on her!), she looks incredible. Very very nice. I think the first picture is my fav.
Shes gorgeous but shes had surgery, so how can you say she is naturally beautiful. Look back at pictures when she was in her 20s, she didnt starve herself, she didnt have a stylist or hair extensions, she hadnt had her eyes or face operated on and she didnt have the luxury of severe photoshop and line-removal. Actually, you only have to look at pictures of her on her days off with her kids to see how craggy her face is looking lately. Shes an attractive woman, but shes not the most beautiful woman in the world. She will never be a Sophia Loren or a Bridget Bardot. Plus, ST. Johns are clever to have used her to get the name out and about and then drop her when they dont need her anymore.
These pictures are very photoshopped, but they look like they were taken a few years ago, she looks about 26=so natural
These pics are extremely old. And I heard she was dropped from St. John too. Still gorgeous nonetheless. As always

She looks absolutely stunning! It’s just ridiculous how beautiful she is. And I think these photo’s just show how good she is at modelling….

This women is stunning to the point where you look at her pictures longer than your suppose to. What I dont understand in the ppl talking about photoshop what’s the point to make you feel better I dont get this site it always seems to bring out the worst in ppl as if to say “she isn’t that pretty cause it’s photoshop” I understand that this site to to talk about women’s bodies but it all became so negative

Maybe you shouldn’t have airbrushed her that much and showed off those knobby knees of hers. That way everybody would avert their gaze to the jewellery.
I love her look, but these pictures are SO PhotoShopped–it’s ridiculous! I agree, she’s too airbrushed. They obviously used a blur filter as a mask, but the edges are too obvious and so is the blur effect; it’s too blurred, too unrealistic. Plus exaggerating the levels in the photo (with PhotoShop) helps to ease the look of exhaustion that we’re so used to seeing her don.
Trust me, I’ve been using Photoshop for several years professionally.

OMG she is gorgeous, IMO most beautiful woman on earth.
Well of course she’s photoshopped, for a start her tattoos have all vanished and for second they gave her more of a softness to her features and curve to her frame. It’s not totally overkill, though, which is a relief.
I think they dropped her – and didn’t they do it over a year ago, btw? – because people remembered her, not the brand, and their core demographic weren’t feeling it. Though I’m pretty sure they knew she wouldn’t appeal to their core demographic from the start.
I feel that the entire thing, including constantly bringing up after dropping her ages ago – is nothing more than shilling for publicity.
I can’t stop looking at her face, i’s hypnothizing LOL…if Brad dropped her, he will be so sorry, his loss !!!!
